Profile and contact information

Andy joined the police in February 1984. He has undertaken a number of challenging roles during his service including running the St. Pauls Community Beat Team in 1993/4, a short period seconded to Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary and as the Chief Inspector responsible for Operational Support throughout the Avon and Somerset area which includes the Mounted, Dogs, Air Support, Underwater Search and Support Group functions.

 

In April 2001, he moved to the North Somerset District as the Operational Chief Inspector and in January 2003 was promoted to Superintendent taking over the Staff Development Unit at HQ.

 

Andy has been working in South Gloucestershire since March 2005 and in January 2007 he was promoted to Chief Superintendent and took over as the District Commander for the area.

 

Andy is also a public order and major sporting events commander with responsibility for policing Bristol City Football Club and is a regular member of the command team at the Glastonbury Festival.
