Peter Aze

Profile and contact information

The Heritage Forum advises the Partnership on heritage issues in South Gloucestershire and the wider area but is not a full member with voting rights.

Peter's engineering career started his interest in heritage when he began work in Devonport Naval Dockyards' private power station.  It was about 100 years old with the original equipment and situated in the shadow of I.K.Brunels curved railway bridge over the river Tamar at Saltash. Many years later he was invited to join the design team at British Aerospace for the Concorde supersonic aircraft and moved into the area. He joined the Heritage Forum at its' onset as a representative of Pucklechurch Parish Council of which he was chair at the time.
The Heritage Forum is a voluntary membership body established to support and coordinate all activities involved with heritage in South Gloucestershire. The main groups involved are museums, local town and parish councils and history societies, also individuals interested in the subject.

The range includes a working steam railway, National Trust properties, Aero and engine museums including Concorde (where Peter works as a guide), a coalmine and local area museums. All are heavily dependent upon volunteers.
