Neil Liddington

Head of Risk Reduction


Neil Liddington joined Avon Fire & Rescue Service (AF&RS) in 1994 as a Firefighter at Speedwell Fire Station. Before joining the Service, Neil had worked at Rolls Royce, had been a self-employed carpenter and spent time in the Marines.

Neil moved from Speedwell Fire Station to various stations across the county in an operational capacity including Temple, Southmead, Avonmouth, Bath, Brislington and finally  Bedminster Fire Station, moving through the ranks within the service.

During his time at AF&RS, Neil has been also worked in equality and diversity, community safety, learning and development and the joint training centre at severn park. He is currently the head of risk reduction for the service providing prevention and protection oversight within Avon.

Outside of AF&RS Neil’s time is mainly spent with his children Ben and Rosie and his dog Baloo.
