WELCOME TO THE SOUTH GLOUCESTERSHIRE PARTNERSHIP'S HOMEPAGE
Our Vision: "South Gloucestershire - a great place to live and work.
By working in partnership, our vision is for everyone who lives and works in South Gloucestershire to fulfil their potential, enjoy an excellent quality of life and support others in their communities whilst protecting the environment."
What's new: June 2008
The Annual Report 2007/08 of the South Gloucestershire Partnership was signed off at its last meeting at the end of June. Some of the achievements included
- publishing the new Sustainable Community Strategy , the long-term, shared vision of all partners to make South Gloucestershire a great place to live and work by 2026. This strategy sets out the priorities of the area as identified by the communities of South Gloucestershire, guides the work of the partners to achieve the priorites and enables improved joint working and service delivery.
- developing a new Local Area Agreement.
- been involved in the Local Development Framework through the Core Strategy which is critical to the management of the significant growth coming to the area soon.
The annual report also highlights the key benefits of working in partnership and future areas of work upon which the SGP will be focussing in the coming year.
Our new Local Area Agreement (LAA) was signed of by the Partnership and the Council at the end of May and has now been finally approved by the Secretary of State. The LAA is the delivery plan for the Sustainable Community Strategy and details the targets which, when achieved, will fulfil the vision (see above).
The next meeting of the South Gloucestershire Partnership is on 13th October 2008 (venue to be confirmed).
