Welcome to the first South Gloucestershire Challenge from Peter Steel CVS South Gloucestershire Chair of Trustees

We are delighted to launch the first SG Challenge which is supported by the South Gloucestershire Local Strategic Partnership – Our Area Our Future.

The challenge aims to do two things raise the profile of local voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations and raise funds for 10 local good causes.

For the first Challenge we are seeking to establish 10 teams who will raise money during May, either through a one off challenge or a series of events with a target of raising £1,000.

I am pleased to let you know that CVS South Gloucestershire is the first team to have a challenge agreed. Trustees, Staff, Associates and our volunteer will be undertaking a sponsored ‘hike’ in the Brecon Beacons.

During March we are also receiving applications from local voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations with an income of less than 100k from across South Gloucestershire. The CVS Board of Trustees will select 10 to go through to the 2016 Challenge.  If you know of a local good cause, please ask them to email info@cvs-sg.org.uk for more information or visit the CVS website where they can download a form.

Selected teams and the local good causes will have dedicated pages on our new website www.cvs-sg.org.uk and we aim to generate public interest through twitter and dedicated Facebook pages – where teams can keep track of each other’s fundraising progress.

We look forward to receiving your team proposal form. If you would like to find out more about how your organisation might have a team please contact helen.black@cvs-sg.org.uk who would be happy to come and talk at a staff meeting about the challenge and how you can get involved.
